Customers have increasingly high demands in terms of quality, while also expecting lower prices.
This means that suppliers need to be good at adapting to a constantly changing market where the newest development is always just around the corner. The product line is therefore more important than ever before.
Bella Skilte has been providing fun signage since 1965 and has worked on many exciting and innovative projects over the years.
"We need to be able to stand behind the quality of our products. That’s why we don’t just get the cheapest model so we can save money on the printer, because that can go very wrong. We place a lot of emphasis in familiarising ourselves with the products we want to buy, and we test them thoroughly.
"We have just invested in Epson's SureColor SC-S80600 because it is inexpensive to operate and the results are outstanding. It doesn't get much better than that. It is also easy and quick to work with, and it gives us a degree of flexibility that is important in this market," says Morten Nielsen, a partner at Bella Skilte.

Bella Skilte is seeing an increase in customer expectations, particularly when it comes to getting the colours just right. And new technologies bring new possibilities.
Today, printers can print colours with incredible precision on virtually any material.
"If people order a red car, they expect to get a red car. They don’t want an orange one. That's how it is in our industry. We have to achieve a result that is as close to photo quality as possible, and we are able to do that much more easily today because printers are improving all the time.
"For example, our SureColor SC-S80600 can match the Pantone scale with 98% accuracy. It's impressive," says Nielsen.
The future is digital
Digitisation is gaining ground in many industries, including the signage industry.
Nielsen sees a digital future for the industry, while also pointing out the importance of knowing one's craft and maintaining a high level of professionalism.
"Digital screens are getting cheaper all the time, and with them the message can be changed at the press of a button. So we will be seeing more of those. It’s about being able to adapt to a new, more flexible style of production, and then rediscovering our craft.
"Anyone can go out and buy a printer and press the start button, but if they can’t finish the product, assemble it and make it come to life, then the value of the product is not high enough. We therefore need to hold on to our professionalism, because that’s where the value is for our customers," concludes Nielsen.
